Borderlands

Is Borderlands a good game

Tomorrow i am gonna spend a good 90 dollars on Microsoft point card(3 card of 2600 point i believe).

So i was wondering since i was thinking of buying some games if Borderlands is as good as all the video and rumor says. I like first person shooter(Half-Life 2 ,Left 4 Dead 2 well L4D 2 in particular) as much as RPG game( Castlevania Symphony Of The Night , Tales Of Vesperia, World Of Warcraft) soo is Borderlands a game for me or just skip and buy something else.

If its about download content that the game is fun at then no worry i think i am gonna have enough point to buy all 4 DLC.

And one last question is the game more fun doing PvP(if there is any) or its the single campaign OR the Co-Op that make the game good

You should enjoy Borderlands based on the games you listed. It's a great game.

However, I think it may be cheaper if you buy the newer edition that comes with all of the DLC instead of buying it off the Marketplace.

Yeah, definitely just buy the GotY Edition.

Asking that question on the board of the game isn't really a good way to get unbiased info, fyi. I'd agree with the above poster, though. It's basically an FPS with Diablo style weapon spawning and skill trees. Great fun, in my opinion!

I've never been a huge fan of FPS's, but even I loved this game. As for your question about the game modes, it's generally more fun when you play with other people, but single player is a lot of fun in it's own right.

The game has a lot of strong points going for it:

1) Customization -> Nearly endless. With the random weapon generator similar to the Diablo games, the amount of different weapons you can get is ridiculous. So farming for weapons will be one of the things you spend a lot of time on, simply to see what combinations you can get on the gun.

2) Replay value -> Depends on your viewpoint. Since there are four different characters, it's natural to want to max them all out eventually, to see which one you like the best. Also, with the "Play-through 2" option, that's eight play-through's to keep you busy throughout the game's life. And that is just the core of the game. Once you add in all the other things you can do, including achievements, you'll be playing the game for a while. However, if you simply like to beat the game and get it over with, this one may not be for you.

3) Difficulty -> Awesome. It's not so easy that you'll be bored with the game, and it's not so hard that you're going to stop playing the game out of frustration. It's "delightfully challenging" in a lot of cases, and "good simple fun" in most other cases.

Overall, excellent game. Get it, enjoy it, and play the crap out of it.

Don't make the mistake that I did and dl the game, the dl all the DLC. I don't even want to know how much I spent when I could have bought the GOTY disc for cheap.

And I enjoyed the game very much despite not liking FPS games. Well, I did play splitscreen co-op with the wife though. Not sure how much I would've liked it solo.

It's not a good game, it's an awesome game. You should get the GotY edition for sure, this game offers some of the best DLC available this gen. This game is all about the Co-op experience and single player. Both are amazing, though imho, it's best played with some good buds. PvP is a joke in this game. It exists, but it's not fun, deep or well done at all.
