Stay close so he doesn't train charge as much. Run around to the right(his left); he does the rock throw with his right arm, and begins his charge with his left, which you can roll right under if you're close. This is also a great time to learn the timing for rolling through roars. Roll JUST before the roar would flinch you, and you'll avoid it entirely. If you're really close, though, you'll have to roll through the shockwave at the same time.

If finishing him off is a problem, blow up a couple of bombs while he's sleeping.

But that's general stuff. I never really took a Bow to Tigrex, and I don't know what other weapon(s) you're using, if any.

Wrong actually.

I make a lot of rookie mistakes so defenses are important to me so I can take that extra hit. For Tigrex, strangely, all of his attacks are dragon element.

For Tigrex bow strategies, I find that if you stick fairly close to him he often tries to do his spin attack even though you're just out of his range. It also gives him less time to track with his charges, making rolling away easier. Maintain your mobility, the bow gives it to you so don't squander it, and don't commit to a full charge if Tigrex is already recovered from its last attack.
