my screen's native resolution is 1680x1050, yet when i run this in full screen, the resolution appears to be 800x600, the gamma or brightness seems way too high with a tint of green, and there are 2 small black strips running up the right and left side. i have this same problem with metro 2033, and while it also happened with AVP, the most recent patch for it fixed the issue. whats strange is that when i put it into windowed mode, the resolution looks perfect and crisp. the second it goes back to full screen, it looks like garbage i also noticed that when the game starts in full screen, im able to hit keys and bypass the opening vids, where as while windowed, i have to wait for the little company logo nonsense clips.
i have a radeon 4870HD 1gb (w/ latest drivers), intel 3.2 quad, 8gb DDR2 ram, and windows 7 any help would be appreciated
also, as a side note, this is the first time ive posted on the GF boards in at least 7 or 8 years. apparently all the karma from my posts i made in middle school gained a ton of interest and im ancient. funny stuff.

i had that problem when i had my tv/monitor hooked up to the vga input on my tv. had to use a dvi to vga adapter from my vid card and whenever i tried to play games in my native res (1360x768) it would default to 1280x768 with black bars along the sides. switched to hdmi connection and no problems anymore, i can even go past the native res but text looks all muddy and asslike
