I've read online from a few places that it is, so i went out and bought it. My Wii U just shipped to me yesterday, so after setting it up and everything it either doesn't seem to read the disc or i'm doing something wrong.

Could one of you fine gentlemen or gentleladies please help me out?

Did you go into Wii mode? To run Wii games, you have to go into that mode. They even made it look exactly like the Wii Menu.

You know that game I never played? That one?

Do you need a wiimote to use it? And also i barely started messing with it yesterday, so i access wii mode through the wii u control right?

There should be a button in the menu for Wii play, like the "play game disc" button or whatever you want to call it. And yes, it will tell you to sync up a Wiimote after you choose to go to Wii-mode

Cool, thanks, i'll see if i can borrow a wiimote off one of my friends.

You've played it on wii u though right?

No, but I have played plenty of other Wii games on it. And the chances that MHT is somehow not compatible is kinda far fetched.

Yep, it should go pretty easily. Good luck and Happy Hunting.

That would be more like 'forwards compatible'.

Crazy bellringer was right, there's money to be made in a place like this.
