I need your advice in fixing a problem of mine. I bough Mass Effect over a year ago, in the hope of trying it, and I never got the chance to run it. Thought I would give it another try, and I spent a lot of time on the net figuring out how to install it.
I understand the PC game is quite difficult to run, so I managed to get to the point where I updated the 1.02 patch and used the No-CD game fix. I run the game from the Mass Effect.EXE in the Binaries folder, with the Compatibily set as Windows XP SP 2, in Administrator Mode. I also added the file to my DEP list.
Still, I keep getting an APPCRASH error. I'm fairly sure my drivers are up to date.
That being said, I have no idea what's left for me to do.
Any ideas on the matter?
Thanks in advance. --- "can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened?"
I'm pretty sure this game doesn't need a Disc check. It uses an online activation. Are you able to activate your game? --- http://pileofsecrets.wikidot.com/articles - Castlevania Strongest Characters http://cyberakumamechgouki.blogspot.com/ - Skip Beat! PS2 story
I'm pretty sure you don't need the CD to be in the drive. But you do need to have your serial while you are connected to the internet. Have you tried entering your serial AFTER you installed the game?
Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling everything before you enter the serial again? --- http://pileofsecrets.wikidot.com/articles - Castlevania Strongest Characters http://cyberakumamechgouki.blogspot.com/ - Skip Beat! PS2 story
SnappySnake posted... I tried doing a clean install, it didn't work. I had to copy all the data files from the disc a tempory directory and do a manual installation by unzipping the archives in the game folder.
Could you elaborate on "it didn't work"? Error messages, etc.
What I meant with my earlier post is that this game does work on Windows 7 and you should not be looking in that direction if you are having issues. --- Straight to the pointless.
