IMO, with anti-aliasing enabled, ME2 is the best looking PC game with the exception of Crysis. I only use 4x and it looks great.. the performance hit isn't bad at all, and I'm running on a laptop GTX260M (~ to a desktop 9800GT).

If you have an nVidia card grab the latest version of nHancer and enable 08011C5: Unreal Engine 3 in the Anti-Aliasing compatibility pulldown.

If you have an ATI card you can rename the .exe to UT3.exe and enable AA in the CP.

Bioware made a poor decision here not to allow AA natively. AA improves picture quality by a TON, especially for those playing on 1080p resolution or lower. At resolutions above that you can argue that it makes less of a difference.

TC don't blame BioWare.
They get the Unreal 3.5 Engine from Epic, and Epic didn't put AA in natively to the engine.
For BioWare to mod it, they would have to make their own engine completely or either get Epic to insert AA.
However, I have a Radeon HD card and since I am not sure about forcing AA (my cataclyst control centre hasn't worked for ages) I am very very jealous. :)

I tried using nHancer, but nothing happened. I still see jagged lines.

Steps: Made a new profile, renamed it to Mass Effect 2, enabled AA compatibility with 08011C5, enabled Anti-Aliasing with 4x multisampling, and turned on V-Sync.

Hmmm, it works for me. You may also want to try 00000045 AA & HDR in the AA compatibility pulldown, I have seen that working for other users on the web. Finally I doubt this makes a difference but I added the launcher as well to the profile and run the game always with the launcher. Also, what graphics card are you using?

With AA forced the game does look a lot better but best looking game on PC? Please!!!!! Lots of textures on npc's up close are quite horrible, it may be a good looking game for the console but on PC it's far from the top.....
