The above numbers mean maximum number of Specialists that have an effect on stats right? Not the maximum one slot on an item can have?

Does it count like having a total of 19998 Gladiators in one item or is that per slot?

To clarify, this shows the EFFECTIVE limit for Specialists.

So, while you may have a 347 Statistician, only 300 actually apply, the other 47 goes to waste.

The exceptions to this are the Specialist which boost stats,

They have NO effective limit, and are only limited by the max possible size of the single specialist.

this list has many mistakes.

status inflicting specialists cap at 150.

status resistance specialists cap at 998 (provien long ago in the D: HoD board so dont ask).

elemental modifying specialist caps at 150, eventhough their effective elemental affinity resistance only go up to 90%.

also this:

Social Worker - Increases the character's Paralyze resistance.
Medicine Man - Increases the character's Deprave resistance.

yes, its the opposite but has been proven to be a mistranslation issue when it was localised. i do not know if this has been fixed in Disgaea DS but it is important to note as i dont think it was fixed in Disgaea PSP either.

But even if you get the elemental modifiers up to 150, you'll never have more than 140 of one active, right?

-50 to +90 only requires 140, so having more than that is pointless...

you make sense, but in terms of formula wise, the affinities is capped at 100 or -100, eventhough for the positive side, it caps at only 90% efficiency. the negative side however, doesnt follow the positve side and caps at -100% (meaning a 2x increase in opponent's elemental affinity modifier in the end of the calc). however do note again the a lot of things are theoretically 100%, but disgaea caps it at 99%. steal rate, hit rate, you name it (there is a reason for why i say this).

now i know in D1 you cannot decrease opponent's elemental affinity to see this, but it doesnt prevent it from being correct theory/formula-wise. this is why the disgaea vets in D: HoD boards have deduced that the cap for status resistance specialists as 998, rather than just 150 which would have fitted the bill the way we see it, being equavalant to the status inflicting cap.

and you know what? i like you. you're being critical here xD.
