Uh huh.

Ya same prob here. Just started p4 again because only have ps2 at dads and getting bored of dissidia and vbagx not working.

Exposition overload, but if i could endure this then I could probably endure Ever17. Well, not 'endure' in the latter's case. Just, I've played uchikoshi's other work, Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors.

Also @FScell screw the salarian dalatrass.

Disclaimer: Yes, my comment seems trollish, but 2 hours IS kind of a BS exaggeration. Remember that 1/10 review that claimed 2 hours?

Honestly, the only way it can possibly take that long is if one is alternating between playing and doing other things (which is possible, of course) but if you're doing that, you don't count the time not playing as time it takes before the game really gets started. it's like they left it on for an hour and a half while they ran errands then looked at their game time when they saved it after getting to the Dojima residence.

It isn't a BS exaggeration at all. I was fast approaching 1 hr when i picked it up and my sister had already done the red bridge Hirasaka scene. Just gotten into real but still held-by-hand dungeon crawling now at 8, starting at 5. That's 4 hours and you're still not in the game proper.

Ok everyone, I'm done. I just played through and timed from the moment the new game started loading until after school on April 18th, the first day the game lets you freely choose what you want to do (not much to do on that date, but not the point)

Gotta say though, I was thinking going into this that 2 hours was a bit hyperbolic but...lemme tell ya, it's actually an understatement.

Okay, I have the total time, but I also took the liberty of marking the times of certain events so that you can have a rough idea of when they come up. Now remember, this was done by letting everyone finish talking, and for silent messages, just hitting X when they finished being displayed. Turns out you don't have the compendium before Shadow Chie, so I had to grind a little bit too (not much)

But these are the times I have (now obviously these times would be a bit different for everyone depending on how you do it, but the point of this was to get to these events as quickly as possible)

15:24 was the first time I was actually able to move my character. This is when you can wander around the house a bit your first night

52:48 is when the cutscene began when they first watched the Midnight Channel

01:03:23 is when they first entered the TV world

01:40:27 was the first actual fight (not counting that dream fight on the first night, I'm talking those tongue shadows)

02:47:14 was when I first entered Yukiko's Castle and was able to roam around a dungeon

03:02:27 is when I began the fight against Shadow Chie (03:04:27 is no joke when I beat her lol I was able to do it in 2 minutes, kinda proud of that...)

And finally, our final time...when Yu is able to run freely around school and choose how to spend his time...

3 hours, 20 minutes and 40 seconds to get through the basic introduction of this game.

Now of course you're all welcome to try this experiment for yourself to see if your results are different but...make sure you've got a couple hours to kill before you do.

Thanks Strain. That's actually interesting. Oh well, I love the intro despite the length.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually as surprised as you are.

I mean I knew it was long, but you don't really notice it's THAT long until it's put into perspective...and timed.

I mean over 3 hours...that's like halfway through certain games these days.

It's insane.

And I'm pretty sure most people on the boards also agree on the two-hours-or-so thing even before Strain tested it. It's no exaggeration at all.
