How Can I…

1a) Get the glyph in the Monastery that’s surrounded by falling blocks (cubus)?
What you'll need:
The ignis glyph.

-> In order to get the glyph, simply cast the ignis glyph union on the ground and keep holding up. You’ll absorb the glyph before the blocks cover it back up. The glyph you get behind the blocks is the nearly useless Cubus glyph, which lets you create the blocks you are destroying right now. There are other glyphs you can use besides ignis, but this one is fairly simple to use and you can get it somewhat early in the game.

1aa) Do I get anything for destroying all the blocks?
Yes, this is how you obtain the Justice Ring, Keep attacking the blocks using globus, nitesco, or something else that reaches across the screen. You MUST absorb the glyph first, even if you already have it, or the blocks will never stop. It will take several minutes to destroy them all. For more info, see 4b

---

1b) Get the glyph in the Tymeo Mountains where wind is blowing me off the ledge (pneuma)?
What you'll need:
Magnes Glyph

-> In order to get the pneuma glyph in the Tymeo mountains, make your way to the top of the room and stand on the platform. Use magnes to latch on to the magnet in the middle of the glyph and launch yourself to the right. You'll want to launch yourself as medium strength - too hard and you'll fly off, to easily and you'll be blown off of the platform. As soon as you launch yourself, start holding up. If you launched correctly, you'll stop at the right end of the platform before you start being blown off. If you hold up fast enough, you'll absorb the glyph before you're blown off. Note that the tower ring does NOT help you get this glyph!

---

1c) Walk through glowing portal walls?
What you'll need:
Paries glyph

-> You'll encounter most of these walls before you can actually get through them, so don't worry too much about them, but don't forget where they are, either! Late in the game, you'll encounter a boss called Wallman. When you absorb his glyph, you'll be able to use it to walk through these walls.

1d) Beat Blackmore/Giant Crab/Other boss?

-> Most bosses in this game seem very hard, but aren't so rough once you figure out a pattern to them. I'll leave detailed explanations up to FAQ writers, but if you want a video example of what to expect/some good tactics, check out these youtube videos.

Albus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpbcFYoaWZs (Don't forget to absorb Acerbatus!)
Arhtroverta (Lobster) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSIdZX_b9Gk
Barlowe - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3e6TFiXh1Y
Blackmore - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SD8iNDqKZI
Brachyura (Giant Enemy Crab) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGVsBtYTNeE
Death - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzGnxgWa_Pc (I suggest Rapidus Fio instead of Medusa)
Dracula (Uses Dark+light union) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS5U-HSTAuE
Eligor - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJAiGkrR5MM
Giant Skeleton - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-7qaMqXEGU
Gravedorcus (Sand shark) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPLujwBlaxk
Goliath - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNQ6h1nFe5A
Note for Jiang Shi: You can use Melio Scutum to block/destroy his light balls, but neither of these videos show that.
Jiang Shi (No flying) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZxUr9qT6kY
Jiang Shi (Flying) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLZSnBJga6E
Maneater - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i__bL2I6o2s
Rusalka - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85G8ggJmF-A (Spear + Fulgur is a better use of hearts here)
Wallman - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8Nnoc0NeeU

1da) Beat the wallman boss?

-> All you need to do to beat this boss is absorb his glyph. I suggest, however, that you steal a super potion from him before you kill him, though. He will use a super potion between his attacks. Attack him at this point and he'll drop the super potion. He'll only drop one, however. From then on, he'll continue to attack you with bombs. Position yourself on the red or blue blocks in the room to avoid the bombs he throws, then hold up as soon as possible to absorb his glyph before he disappears. The bombs follow a set of three patterns. You don't be able to absorb the glyph on the first pattern, so simply duck somewhere until the next set. If you miss is on the second pattern, you can also absorb it on the third pattern. After that, the set will begin again at one and repeat until you take his glyph. Alternatively, you can equip a tower ring and simply stand on the ground and absorb it if you can survive being hit by the fire.

---

1e) Buy items from my own shop (duplicate items)?
What you'll need:
Ability to connect to WiFi
Someone to connect to
Enough money to buy what you want to duplicate

-> Go to town, enter the shop, then choose display items. Pick up to 8 items that you want to sell/duplicate (prices are already set for you). Save the game and go to Nintendo Wifi Mode. You can do this both with a Friend Code or Shop With Anyone mode, but if nobody is on the "Anybody" mode, you'll need to connect to someone else here, so ask a friend or someone here on GameFAQs. Go to shop mode, then choose "customer." Now, just find your own shop and buy whatever you want.

If you're afraid you won't have enough money, check this topic for prices of items being sold before wasting your time -> http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=945837&topic=46256320

1f) Unlock the two hidden dungeons (Large Cavern and Training Hall)?
What you'll need:
The Paries Glyph

-> You need to have access to Dracula's castle to unlock them. Make your way to the bottommost eastern part of the castle (j35 on this map - http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/file/945837/54579) and break the wall on your right. You'll continue to use Paries and break walls going to the right until you reach a room where you can exit through the ceiling. Follow this path to find the alternate exit to Drac's Castle. This will also let you into the Large Cavern and Training Hall areas.

---

1g) Get the good ending?

-> There are only two endings in this game (technically 3, but pretty much 2), which is strange for a Castlevania. The bad ending occurs if you beat Albus and haven't found all of the villagers yet. After you kill yourself, the game will show you the other villagers you haven't found (usually a daughter or mother). In order to continue the game and get the good ending, make sure you find all of the villagers before you beat Albus. Also, don't forget to absorb Albus's glyph before killing him; you can't get it again. The "third" ending occurs if you don't use dominus at the end of the Dracula fight. Dracula will eventually use his ultimate attack and kill you, though nothing else special happens. Use the dominus union at the end of the Drac fight (equip all three Dominus Glyphs and perform a glyph union as usual. Dominus agony doesn't need to be activated) in order to get the good ending.

---

1h) Reach [some certain area that I can’t get to yet]?

-> These areas are abundant. If you can't get to them yet, chances are that you don't need to! There are a few items that help you access these areas:

-Serpent Scale - After defeating Brachyura in the Lighthouse, you get this. With it, you can move underwater.
-Leap Stone/Ordinary Rock - You get this relic after defeating the Maneater boss in the Skeleton Cave. Let's you double jump.
-Volaticus - In the final area of Dracula's castle, you will find this glyph that lets you fly.
-Paries - To defeat the Wallman in Dracula's castle, you'll get this glyph that lets you walk through walls.

Rapidus Fio also helps your movement by letting you move quickly and jump across large chasms, though it isn't a necessary glyph as these others are. It's available in the southeast potion of Drac's castle (see 1f).

---

1i) Level up familiars/summons?

-> There are a total of seven familiars, all of which can be level to level 3. There are two ways to level them:

- Absorb 15 of the same glyphs to get to level 2 or 30 for level 3.
- Let them kill monsters. A lot of them. Thousands.

Obviously, absorbing the glyphs is the fastest route here. However, you can passively kill monsters if you would rather to it that way.
For more information on passively leveling familiars, check out 2b)
For information on quickly finding glyphs to level, check out 4a)
For more information on familiars in general, check out the familiar section of tri-Ace Fanboy's glyph FAQ - http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/file/945837/54512

1j) Destroy the rock walls in the Kalidus Channel?

-> This is a bit more obvious than it might seem. There are two rooms in the Kalidus channel in which rocks are piled. Also in this room is a bomb. You must, of course, get the bomb to the rocks. This is a lot harder than it sounds. You must swim against the bottom section of the bomb in the direction that you want it to move. It will only move a little bit at a time, but it will eventually get to the destination. Avoid the temptation to kill the Gelso in the room, as it will simply respawn and you may accidentally set off the bomb. Once the bomb is TOUCHING the rocks, hit it. Make sure it's as close as possible to the rocks, or it won't hit them.

---

1k) Obtain the Necromancer/Fomor/Demon/Nova Skeleton’s glyphs?

-> These are really the easiest to get. Simply wait for the monster to start casting the glyph and hold up. If you start absorbing before they cast, you'll get the glyph. Make sure there are no other enemies around to hit you, as this will stop you from absorbing unless you're wearing the tower ring.

---

1l) Activate the electrodes in Dracula's castle?

-> In U46 of Dracula's castle, you'll find two electrodes. One of these is on the ceiling, the other on the ground. To activate them both at the same time, equip the fulgur glyph to both Y and X. Jump up and cast Y on one electrode, then X as soon as you hit the ground. The balls of lightning are very slow and stay active for a couple seconds, which leaves the electrode activated as long as the fulgur is over top of them. You'll be rewarded with the useless Morbus glyph.

---

1l) Get past the waterfall in Albus mode?

-> In Albus mode, you can tap on your screen to make Albus teleport. Simply tap behind the waterfall and he'll appear there.

---

1m) Get back up the waterfall after I have thawed it?

-> It's a little tricky, but all you have to do is jump. you need to position yourself as close to the ledge as possible so that you jump in the gap between the waterfall and the first ledge. If you are in the correct spot, the waterfall won't push you back down.

+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+

What is/are the…

2a) Purpose of yellow and blue text on glyphs and gear and blue diamond beside enemies names?

-> These are merely classifications for you. Blue means that you already have the glyph equipped (if you have the glyph sleeve, the letter of sleeve you have it in is also shown). Yellow means that it is one of your 5 most recently used glyphs or items. The blue diamond beside enemies names in your enemy list means that you've found all drops/glyph from that enemy.

2b) Best way to level up? (Actively and passively)
What you'll need
2x Hierophant Rings. (Each one gives you 50% extra EXP. With two, you get double EXP)
Lots of attack power (Royal Crown, minerva gear, death rings, etc.)

-> Grinding levels... everyone's favorite part of any game!

Active leveling. These require you to actually participate. Ordered, somewhat, by difficulty.

1. Perhaps the most suggested method is the skeleton frisky room, which is found in C3-5 of the Skeleton Cave. There are many skeleton friskies in this room, which can be killed quickly. The suggested killing glyph here is Nitesco, and Rapidus Fio for your support. Activate rapidus fio, do a short jump into the room and cast nitesco asap. Soon afterwards, cast nitesco again and continue moving forward. You should wipe out all the enemies in your way if your atk is high enough. If not, you may want to just kill the skel friskies up until the point of the skeleton hero then exit and come back in. You can enter through either side of the room, so use whichever is easier and more comfortable for you.

2. If you get tired of killing weak enemies, you can move onto the Lizard Blademen in the Misty Forest Road. Nitesco and Rapidus Fio also work well here, as lizardmen are weak to fire. You won't be able to just run through as you did in the skel frisky room (unless you are at a fairly high level), but the gain is still nice. With two hierophant rings, you'll gain just over 2800exp per 6 kills (there are 6 in the room). Unlike the skel frisky room, there is only one entrance, so you can't just go back and forth, but must backtrack. This can make leveling here a bit slower, but still good.

3. In E37-39 of Dracula's Castle, you'll find Final Knights, who have possibly the best HP to EXP ratio in the game. At 666 HP for 573 EXP, you're getting .86 exp per HP, and 1.72 if you have two Hierophant rings on. I suggest Lapiste to kill the Final Knights, as they are weak to strike attacks. There are more powerful strike glyphs than lapiste, but none can dish out the DPS that lapiste can with its exceptionally quick spamming ability. I suggest running in and killing one, then going back out the same way. You may find that you prefer to kill both of them, or both of them and the devil in E36 as well. All three are viable and work nearly the same, so whichever one works best for you is fine.

4. D40 of Drac's Castle provides perhaps the best leveling spot. Here, you'll find two devils side by side. While individually they aren't spectacular, killing two at once with Nitesco makes leveling very fast. Use rapidus fio, as usual, to jump into the room from the left and fireboth nitescos in mid-air. If your firepower is high enough, you'll kill them with just those two blasts. If not, finish them off, exit, and repeat as long as you'd like.

5. This method was originally posted by bahamut0nightcrawler. The FASTEST exp in the game comes from the double hammer room of the training hall. However, it is important to note that your AP must be very high and you must already be at a fairly high level, meaning that this is best done on a level 255 cap game. However, it is possible to get to the required damage at a much earlier level. Speaking of which, you'll need to do 1000 damage per acerbatus shot for this to be effective, so I suggest two death rings, sapiens fio, royal crown, and robe decollete (or whatever your best INT gear is). Essentially, you'll need to get past the first fire room of the Training Hall. Enter the next room where there are two double hammers. Wait just a second, then fire two acerbatus shots. If you can do 1000 plus damage per shot, then you'll kill them with one volley. Otherwise, you'll need to level elsewhere/get your AP up before doing this. If you're in a level 255 cap game, you can, of course, eventually swap a death ring out for a hierophant ring (and eventually both).

Here are some numbers also provided by bahamut0nightcrawler. Of course, yours may vary greatly based on your pace.
Exp/minute:
56000/min (Hammers: [2x death rings])
84000/min (Hammers: [1x death ring, 1x hierophant ring])
126000/min (Hammers: [2x hierophant rings]
40000/min (Devils)

For further imformation on this method, see xybazelu's post here -> http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=945837&topic=46357459

Passive leveling. With this method, you can gain levels just by letting your DS run. It's very slow, though. You're better off idling to collect AP (See 2D). However, this will also let you level your familiars.

What you'll need:
Any familiar glyph
(Suggested) One or two death rings

Before you begin, remember that YOUR stats affect your familiars, but only at the time of summonging them. Put on a death ring or two before summoning, then take them off if afterwards. This will ensure your familiar can actually do some damage. All familiars except polkir get atk bonus from str, while he gets it from int.

1. Zombies in F7 of the monastery. This is fairly easy, but you'll only get 1 exp per kill, which doesn't really help you much unless you want to wear the justice ring (+Str per kill). However, you can level familiars this way. It'll take several hours per level, but it works. Polkir is really the only familiar you'll have trouble leveling here, as he doesn't like to attack unless you're very close to the zombies and will usually just fly off the screen no matter where you stand.

For your other familiars, you can stand anywhere that's elevated. Usually, right at the doorway works fine, though you can also stand on the pole or scale in the middle of the room if you like.

2. Ghouls in P10 of Dracula's Castle. These are a little better for leveling, as they give 6 exp per kill, but your familiars needs to actually be able to kill them. Use whatever gear you have to boost your str before summoning. Again, you can simply stand by the entrance, but you may want to kill the peeping eye on the screen before you leave your DS alone.

---

2c) Best way to get gold?

This is perhaps a bit TOO easy. I originally found this method in a post by olats.
What you'll need:
2x Gold Rings
Inire Pecunia glyph
Double jump

-> Equip 2x gold rings and Inire Pecunia glyph, then find your way to D24 of the Tymeo Mountains. On the right side of the bridge, you'll see a lantern. Double jump over the lantern on the post, then kick it (down+jump), then mid-air jump off the top of the screen. Do another kick here so you go off the bottom of the screen. You will fly back down into the lantern. When you hit it, you'll get $1000 gold. Double jump back out of the screen and repeat. Easily 100k+ per minute, definitely more once you get a rhythm. You can simply hold the down button the entire time, then hit jump for jumping/kicking. I find it even easier to use something to keep the down button pressed in, like a rubber band something (I used an erased from a mechanical pencil) on the down button, or clamp, or tweezers. Anything you can find. That way, you can just hit the jump button without even really paying attention. Watch a TV show, come back to a few million gold. You won't even realize you're doing anything!

^^ oops, double sig

2d) Best way to get attribute points?
What you'll need:
Emperor Ring
Tower Ring
Refectio (Are you happy now, HollyDagronMail?) Glyph
At least 78 Defense
A way to hold in your "Up" button.

-> Equip the refectio glyph and tower and emperor rings (of course), then head down to D6-7 of Mystery Manor. You might want to save first in the next room, just in case you mess up somehow. Make sure you still have 78 defense after equipping the tower ring, as it hurts your stats. Platinum armor gives the most physical def (15 more than minvera mail, 10 more than minerva greaves), so slap that on if you have it. Drop down to the ground in the middle of the room and pause the game while you situate whatever you've decided to use to hold in the up button (see 2c for suggestions).

Here's what'll happen. The fomors will gather around you and hurt you. However, if your defense is 78+, they will only hurt you one. At the same time, reflectio will regenerate your health. Because you have the tower ring on, you won't flinch, and because you're wearing the emperor ring, you'll heal 2HP instead of one, thus negating the damage. With the up button held, you will continually absorb the fomor's glyphs as they try to attack you, which gives you +1 AP each time it (or any glyph) is absorbed. Note that if you DON'T have the emperor ring on, you'll slowly take damage, about 15 a minute. With this setup, you can expect to reach max AP (65535) for all attributes in under two days, as you'll get just over 24 AP/Minute.

I don't like to brag, but I am very proud of coming up with this method, so I gotta give myself some credit :P

While this is most likely the BEST way to level AP, especially considering it gives you bonus to ALL AP, you can also do it manually if you want. The best methods are essentially the same as best leveling places, as described in 2b). Simply swap your Hierophant rings for Master rings (or mix and match, if you want to level both at once, but I would suggest not. See 4b) for more info). The devils in D40 are especially nice.

---

2e) Max level/hearts/stats/gold/AP/etc.?

-> Max gold is 9,999,999.
-> Max AP (Attribute Point) is 65535 for each.
-> Max hearts is 350.
-> Max stat boosts - You can get a total of 30 of each boost (HP, MP, Heart) using multiple playthroughs. It takes a total of 3 playthroughs to max out. Thusly, you can have 600 extra HP, 300 extra MP, and 300 extra hearts.
-> Max level depends on what mode you're playing. 99 is max for the normal game, but there are also level 1/50/255 games.

Base stat increases per level as presented by TheVoid1
STR---(0.7 x LEVEL) + 5
CON---(0.5 x LEVEL) + 4
INT---(0.6 x LEVEL) + 5
MND---(0.4 x LEVEL) + 3
LCK---(0.3 x LEVEL) + 2
"So if you want to know what level 96 looks like for str, it's (0.7 x 96) + 5 = 72.2 rounded to the nearest number, giving you 72. Also, .5 is rounded down."

2f) Purpose of each stat?

-> There are 4 stats that directly affect you, and 3 that affect your other stats.

ATK (Attack): Simply put, this is the power of your attacks. Simple, yes? No. Attack power is influenced by several things:
1. Your glyph. Each glyph has a base attack power. To check this, go to your menu, then guides, then glyphs. In this menu, you can also check...
2. Your glyph's attribute. While this DOES NOT change the actual ATK value, your attacks will change. If an enemy is weak to a glyph's attribute, it will do 150% damage. If an enemy is strong vs. an attribute, the attack will do 25% damage.
3. If your glyph is physical or magical. If your glyph is physical, str will increase your atk power. If your glyph is magical, int will increase its damage.
4. The amount of AP you have in each attribute. See 4C) for more info.
STR (Strength): Increases in STR boosts your ATK when you have a physical glyph equipped
DEF (Defense): This is your defense vs. physical attacks.
CON (Constitution): Every 2 points in CON gives you one point in DEF
INT (Intelligence): Increases in INT boosts your ATK when you have a magical glyph equipped
MND (Mind): This is your defense vs. magical attacks.
LCK (Luck): Increases your chance to find items and glyphs from enemies.

2g) Purpose of boss medals?

-> Nothing but show and to have 100% of your inventory. Nothing unlocks, no special bonuses. Nothing.

2ga) Do all bosses give medals?

-> Jiang Shi is the only boss who doesn't give a medal.

---

2h) Additional modes/items you can unlock?

-> When beating normal mode for the first time, you unlock Albus mode, and Hard mode with level caps of 1 and 50.
-> Beating Hard Mode lvl. 1 grants you Hard Mode with a level 255 cap and the Queen of Hearts.
-> Beating Hard Mode lvl 50 grants only the Queen of Hearts

2i) Items/glyphs I can miss and not come back to get?

-> The only thing you can completely miss is the acerbatus glyph which you absorb from Albus. Barlowe also casts a glyph, globus, but you can get this later in the game from Demon Lords.

---

2j) Purpose of reabsorbing the same glyph?

-> Usually, no. However, glyphs do grant you +10 hearts restored, +1 to all Attribute Points, and help you level up your familiar glyphs.

---

2k) Lost and kept in new game+?

-> You keep essentially everything except for plot advancing glyphs (All three custos glyphs, all three dominus glyphs) and glyphs/relics that allow you to get somewhere before you're supposed to be there (Magnes, Paries, Redire, Volaticus, Serpent Scale, Double-jump stone). You keep everything else.

---

2l) Purpose of Konami Man, Vic Viper, and Twinbee?

-> Nothing! Just novelty items. Fun to find and necessary for 100% item completion.

---

2m) Rarest drop?

-> According to Hextator, Melio Ascia is the rarest drop in the game. Even with 160 luck, it is still a 3-star drop.

3b) The mother, son, and daughter villagers?

-> These guys get seem to get lost a lot.

Mother/Woman -> She's trapped in behind a breakable wall, which is in turn behind the waterfall at O21 of Tristis Pass
Daughter/Girl -> Behind a breakable wall at G5 in Somnus Reef
Son/Boy -> Chillin' at Somnus Reef with his sister. Look for him at B15 behind a broken wall.

3c) Records 1 and 5?

-> These are both hiding out in Ecclesia. For record 1, go to the top of the main shaft. On the left side is a ledge (not the platform, the ledge). Hold down on it and a treasure chest will appear. For record 5, head to the very back of the hallway where you were trained at. It's in the chest there.

---

3d) A Queen of Hearts?

-> Two ways: You can either buy it via WiFi, or complete a Hard Level 1 or 50 Cap game. Once CV: Judgment is released, there may be a Wii/DS connectivity option that will let you earn it.
