Dodge offset

I don't like dodge offset, my reason being that when I attack I tap the punch/kick buttons because it's easier to just tap again to attack again than release and press for every attack. I've always thought the devs made dodge offset work like that because they couldn't find a perfect solution for it, which is why I will probably never play NSIC mode. My question is, are you supposed to use it like I described? By releasing and pressing a button for every attack? And does it eventually feel natural? I always feel extremely awkward when I attempt it.

You can beat Non-Stop Climax mode without using Dodge Offset at all. I did. In one of my older topics, I asked what was the purpose of using Dodge Offset. The answer I received was it was useful to get to Wicked Weaves faster and not having to restart your combo each time you dodge. I'm sure the developers had a plan for it to be i the game the entire time.

To preform, hold the attack button when you hold down the dodge button. Then, while still holding dodge, press the next button in the combo. If you don't hold the dodge button when pressing the first of the following attack buttons, it won't combine it into the combo.

Its a little awkward at first, (I kept tapping dodge instead of holding it) but you'll get used to it with some practice.

Wait, I'm wrong. You don't have to hold dodge. Forget that part.

Thanks for telling me about your NSIC run, I guess I will play it then.

As for the developer's plans, witch time is there so you can combo without dodge offset. Witch time is a strange mechanic, and a core one. I don't remember what it rectifies from Devil May Crys system, as it's been eons since I've played that. Aside from witch time, dodge offset is the only thing else they can give you to let you combo here. It might have been planned the entire time, but the way it was implemented leaves something to be desired. They couldn't find a better way to implement it which is why it ended up like that. At least I'm guessing.

To use it you have to be holding an attack button when you dodge, then you can continue a combo after the dodge. I was wondering how people do this though. Since you can't predict when you're going to need to dodge, I guessed that they hold down every attack for a bit while comboing. It seems to me the only way to do it. Guess I may as well try whenever I get around to playing again.

Exactly, you're guessing.

You presume & guess a lot of things & you know what man. You couldn't be more wrong.

I don't hold every attack at all. Yeah, you can predict when you need to dodge. If im not mistaken every enemy attack comes after an audio que & most, if not all have a glow before the attack.

It comes down to what we've been telling you from the start. You need to Learn the game

Okay, well, thanks.
