"true flight simulators can only be made on the PC and not on consoles."

"you do realize that flight sims are used for actual flight training right?"

True, but the people in those simulators are not sitting in a chair in front of a single computer screen. They are sitting in front of the actual cockpit of the plane they are training on, with multiple screens to replicate the view from the cockpit. Not to mention the feeling of movement.

Quite different than a video game.

Actually more and more ordinary desktop PC sims are being used for training. This A-10C desktop trainer that this pilot is using is just one example, developed by ED/TFC, the same developers of DCS:Blackshark.

DCS:Blackshark, in case you've never heard of it . As you can see, desktop PC sims are not something to scoff at.

Why would PC gamers want this game anyway?

It has less features than IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 on the PC, less flyable planes, less missions, no DGEN etc.

I personally am looking forward to see both how IL-2 Sturmovik: BoP plays, as well as how it's received by the mainstream gaming community.

im pretty sure you will be able to change realism options like on the pc...
so if youre bugged by the fact that noobs might kill you in "arcade mode" just stay with the full or semi full realism options DUH OMFG

"If they dumb it down too much then the game will turn off actual IL-2 players but the halo crowd will be like, "look at all da shiny textures," as they crash into the ground and bounce off several times with minimal damage."

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU HAVE SOME INSECURITIES. HOW ABOUT I BRING MY "HAWK" ON DOWN AND HAVE A LITTLE DOG FIGHT WITH YOU IN A PLANE OF YOUR CHOICE. PC GAMERS TRULY NEED TO PULL THAT BIG STICK OUT OF THEIR @$$ AND GET OVER THEIR CONSOLE HATIN. BESIDES, YOU AND ALL YOUR PC GAMERS ARE A DIEING BREED, SOON TO BE EXTINCT THANKS TO THE CONSOLES.

I agree 120% with the orginal poster. Everytime they bring a "sim" to the consoles its nothing more then an arcade shooter. Id like to see you adjust trim with an xbox controler. Nothing on consoles even comes close.

^ I don't care about adjusting trim.
