Graphics options?

After checking out a review video at YouTube with 720p, I got a bit unsure about getting this. Is there some way to turn off the blood graphics the way there is in the MGS games?

Yes you can (it's in the options).

Note: I don't mind if there is blood in the cutscenes.

Thanks. Sorry about my last post; I must have been writing it while you were posting.

huh... I never really looked at options much.. I'll have to give it a try.. heh.. I bet it doesn't get rid of the blood in the loading screens, or the drip drip drip of the titlescreen.

It probably doesn't get rid of blood in the cutscenes; even with the option on, blood stays in the cutscenes of MGS and other games I have. Anyway, that would require them to create the scenes twice, and I could see that as being a waste of time and money for the creators.

most of the cutscenes are real-time, mind you.. not a big hassle to just not render a texture of blood. The pre-rendered FMVs are a different story.. and storage space..

I know there's an option to turn off some sort of blood effect, not exactly sure what it turns off though since I've always left it on. There's not much blood when killing things. It's mainly just the blood splatter on your body that might get annoying at times and maybe that's what the option turns off.

that splatter IS annoying, partly due to the lack of realism... "whee! I just killed a rat! Now I'm covered with a pattern of little blood splatters, head to toe. Thankfully I have a dog who can lick it all off. yyyyaaaaaay!"
