I am torn here. I have completed 3 characters so far (2 good, 1 bad) and I am on my 4th character (good). I haven't hardened Alistair yet in any of my playthroughs, and I am planning on doing that in this one. However, I feel bad, since it is a pretty jerk thing to say to him (and then you have to insult him again at camp), and although I want to see the "better leader" Alistair, I feel like I am going to miss out on the fun, cool Alistair.
What do you think I should do?

Also, on my last character, (female human noble) I did the Alistair romance and became queen. I did not harden Alistair. Just out of curiosity, how is the ending different if you marry Alistair AND harden him? --- Xbox LIVE: MikeFL25 | PSN ID: Striker725 Sig not changing until Bucs win Superbowl. Started 8/9/05
If you actually read my post, I am not asking HOW to harden him. I am simply asking whether I should or not. --- Xbox LIVE: MikeFL25 | PSN ID: Striker725 Sig not changing until Bucs win Superbowl. Started 8/9/05
You are the one with three playthroughs already. I say go for it, see what it's like. Personally, I would have loved a 'harder' alistair along with me in my game. It's your game. --- DA:O! ^_^ What Arl Howe meant to say was, "I deserve more stab wounds in my chest," he just died before he could spit it out. An_D
I was weary about it too, but ultimately he thanks you and is better for it. His main problem is he's so afraid of letting people down that he won't take command or make decisions easily. Even though it's a jerk thing to say (I wish they'd come up with better dialogue there) it basically just injects him with the confidence he desperately needs.
He remains the cute, bubbly, funny, light-hearted guy he always was, just with a little more confidence in his abilities. Don't worry.
