servers are being overloaded. thousands of people are downloading it at the same time. or your internet sucks. pick one.

They are trying to get close to 2 million testers for this weekend. So that means hundreds of thousands downloading at the same time.
It's probably part of the reason their website has been having major issues the last couple days too.

Hopefully we can just patch to the full client or things are going to get pretty rocky again right before early access.

How can battle.net and origin handle millions of people downloading at the same time and swtor cannot.

And how does my internet suck if I get faster speeds from other programs?

I told you to pick one. not all of them.

Lets try again.
Servers are being overloaded, a giant elephant fell on Bioware's building, or they have the day off due to a malaria outbreak. Pick one.

Hmm...maybe a location thing or something. Mine is downloading at my max bandwidth, 2.3 MB/s.

However, the 25MB installer downloaded slow as heck, like 50KB/s.

I'm in TX for comparison's sake.

I was getting over 2 mb/s yesterday. The servers are either overloaded or some issue with your connection to it.

And how does my internet suck if I get faster speeds from other programs?

You know there so many different variable for this?
Battle.net does not have millions of people downloading a client at this very moment.
