Question over free weekend trial pass

I assume your unable to get the 30 days free trial if you go through this process, correct?

To elaborate, if you choose to take this option, you cannot get the 30 day free trial that comes with purchasing a new game? Thanks.

I don't see why you wouldn't get the 30 days. That 30 days comes with every purchase of a full version of the game. Unless I'm missing something, and there's some special "upgrade to full" offer only good for use during this weekend trial that drops those 30 days. Looking at the announcement for the weekend trial I see nothing that disallows a person from using the 30 days that comes with a purchase of the full game.

That's why I'm trying to understand if you chose the weekend pass, would it forgo the 30 day free trial redemption that comes with buying it.

Namely here:

Who is eligible to try The Weekend Pass Free Trial?

Anyone who has never had an active Game account for Star Wars: The Old Republic is eligible for the Weekend Pass Free Trial. There is a limit of one free trial per account. Weekend Pass Free Trial accounts cannot participate in any other free trial program. (source)

I think it does forgo the 30 days but I'm not positive as much as it seems to indicate that but maybe not? Wish I could ask on the official forums but by then I would need to register the game which would eliminate this offer altogether by then...

Ah, I think I see why you're confused. The time that comes with a purchase of the full game is not a trial, so its not covered by that excerpt you posted about this trial.

The trial and the "bonus time" (30 days) are two completely different things. But if you are playing on a 7 day friend trial, and say you buy the game. Well you would forfeit the rest of your trial time ( what's left of the seven days) but the 30 days would still be intact.

Oh, okay, that clarifies everything ^_^

I didn't realize the 30 days was considered a bonus rather than a trial but that makes sense then.

Thanks guys :)
