Jedi Knight Storyline: Is it normal to just get DESTROYED by certain bosses?

It took me 3 or 4 tries with my level 25 Sentinel to beat Valis, for example. And just barely.
Watcher One took me two or three attempts since I kept trying to kill him instead of his mobs first.

Jedi Knight has some pretty tough bosses IIRC. Bunch of balance complaints on launch, people assumed it was class.

To be fair to them, it kind of was, in the sense that all the other classes had healing routes and that makes soloing oh so much easier.

Some bosses are troublemakers for some classes, and probably always will be. Caster bosses in particular, being immune to spell pushback and not any squishier than normal enemies (whereas in PVP you will completely destroy a Sorc/Sage at melee range).

Some quests and bosses are tougher than WOW has people used to anyway, but it's not that common. Darth Angral is going to tear you a new one though, probably the toughest boss in the entire JK storyline.

The Sith Harrowers on Tatooine during the interlude were brutal.

Knight is probably the hardest of the class stories, and Valis is a real wake up call.
You might want to think about running Flashpoints if you aren't already, you'll get your best gear there. Also, don't forget about your interupts (Force Kick), medpacks, endurance stims, and keeping any modable gear up to date. There's certain places in the Knights story where just coasting along on the green quest rewards will make things pretty hard.

Honestly think force kick was my most used ability as a soloing sentinel

On Valis specifically, you HAVE to interrupt his inductions every chance you get. You also have to use your defensive CDs and medpacs.

JK is definitely one of the hardest stories. But it's mainly just at the beginning because you have such a limited tool set.

Well, I did eventually beat Valis. Should I make Force Kick one of my main abilities at this point? I play on a laptop without an actual mouse, so all my combat is done using the tab key as well as number keys lol. Really hard to use Force Kick in a hurry, since it's not one of my number keys.

On all my characters my interrupt is a major skill and lifesaver, it saves a lot of trouble by stoppingoowerful attacks and stopping some heals
