I'd never gotten to play a Pikmin game back in my Gamecube days, so I jumped on this, especially for only 20 dollars. It's great! It's also unique. It's an RTS meets.... well, I don't know to be honest, but whatever you call it, it's just damn cool. It's also both quirky (with character designs/audio design and the fact that Pikmin are onion-creatures, or whatever) and fun, and that is a GREAT combo. It's also got solid and good controls, especially for the Wii version since you HAVE to use the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo for this version. It plays great. It's really an awesome game, for a KILLER price. If you never played either game (I never played either and went right to Pikmin 2, as it's not no time limit in the overall gameplay) then I HIGHLY recommend it. Great price, great game. --- To the mattresses. PSN: Justice_98405, Xbox Live: Justice98405
First, this is a very fun game. It's unique and there's nothing else like it on the market...until Pikmin 3. Second, it's a remake of a Gamecube game that is made better with Wii Remote controls. The Gamecube original became somewhat of a collector's item and very hard to find unless you were willing to pay a premium for it. The Wii remake was released in other regions years ago and only this past weekend was it made available in North America. Third, it's only $20 brand new.
This game is a masterpiece, one of the best gamecube games I PLAYED when I owned it. It removed the time limit giving you a fantastic world to explore. I LOVE all those items with real brand names to pick up, plus the game is challenging and has multiplayer. Also, when the game came out, it was one of those few games that had differnet covers in the same region. There was one with the pikmin near a lobster, one where they were on trees and I think there was one more.,.
Just so people don't get the wrong idea about the first Pikmin, the time limit isn't really as bad as it sounds. Yeah, it's pointless, but you can easily finish the game on the first try without worrying about it and the game is fantastic.
Like a good deal of people it seems, I missed out on the series on Gamecube (I never owned one), but always thought it looked interesting. This release presented a great opportunity at only $20. It really is a great game. It has the kind of creativity and quirky nature that Nintendo is so skilled at pulling off. If you can pick up a copy (they seem to be limited), I definitely recommend it. --- Currently Playing: Bit.Trip Complete (Wii), Xenoblade (Wii) Anticipating: Doom 3 BFG Edition (PS3), Final Fantasy X HD (PS3)
I like Pikmin. I absolutely love Pikmin 2. I was thrilled to be surprised by this in the ads this week. I had no idea they were bringing it over. I was quite disappointed NA didn't get it back when it came out in Japan and Europe.
Like alot of people,I too missed out on the Pikmin games in the gamecube days.I watched my brother play them, but never played them myself. So,years back when the Wii port of Pikmin came out,I tried it and liked it.It's a good concept, but it was too short and I thought it'd be fun just to make a huge army of Pikmin, and unless you know where all the ship parts are by memory, you most likely won't be able to just make a huge army of Pikmin. Pikmin 2 however, doesn't have the time limit, and allows you to just make huge armys and such. It's very fun,and while I play through it,it's slowly becoming one of my favorite games. It's just that good. --- XBL GT: Mariosonic12 Goldeneye Wii FC: 530460135362 |
