I just played a ranked with a Nocturne with the following items:
Warmog Randuin's Merc Treads GA Wit's End Trinity
He went 18/4/6 while going legendary. Is that really all the damage he needs? I can post a screenshot if you want. --- ][<(/\)>][ Seattle Supersonics: We will not forget http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9Dp20ydm1E
Why would he get a trinity thats way too expensive for so little damage on him >.>
That's what I thought.... I think this build isn't terrible, but he needs more damage to be good against a good team comp. I think he probably was lucky and all the enemies were squishy enough to kill. I'd kill the trinity and randuins, maybe replace it with aegis and a black cleaver or something along those lines. --- Come follow me.. Come follow me... Give the wheel a spin, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find the secret yourself. Plunge... into the dusk; and into your soul.
TF is straight up bad on him. No reason at all to waste so much gold on it. Build the Phage into a Frozen Mallet instead.
Don't really need GA on him as Randuin's + FoN + health from Mallet is usually enough. If you still need tankiness after that you'd sell your Wriggle's for a Warmog's.
Merc's (usually), HoG, Phage, and Wit's End are your mid-game core items. You don't really need to build damage on him because of how his skills work. His ad ratio's are actually really bad, so building AD on him wouldn't work anyway. If you absolutely need damage, it's because they're building f***tons of armor, in which case when you sell your Wriggle's and get a Black Cleaver. The attack speed works very well with his passive and his Q (more attacks while on the dusk trail, more passive procs) and the damage + armor pen is nice. That's really your only AD offensive item other than Frozen Mallet. He doesn't need more damage, that's why Nocturne is so awesome. You need to land those Q's, though, because that's how he does his damage. --- NYY 59-39
