Mobafire.

So like many of you may know, Mobafire doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to producing guides that don't suck. Not too long ago, I stopped and thought. Instead of using Mobafire as a e-peen raising meme, how about I help it not suck? And THAT is exactly what I did. I'm not saying the site is the best guide site out there, and I freely admit the voting system is pretty bad, but when you google "league of legends guide" the first thing to come up is Mobafire, and instead of crying that some bad in your solo queue game is using some horrible build off Moba, I'm working to try to stop that from happening.

I've got two guides up on the site in an effort to help remove the stigma currently plaguing the site, but many people look at some of the top guides, laugh, and never visit again, only telling fabled stories of the top rated Lux guide that tells you to build Mejai's every game etc. etc.

I came here as a PLAYER (not some paid douche advertising the site) to ask some of you to give the site a chance, and look at some of the guides made by pro players (yes there are some that made guides there) or at least the platinum players there. I don't frequent these forums, but I doubt you guys are pro player caliber, and that most of you are probably sub-platinum as well. So just give it a chance.

I'm not a platinum player myself, (although technically I hit 1870 which is past current platinum threshold after it was moved down before the elo wipe) but I'm a guy who plays on a team thats placed top 8 several times in tournaments (namely Go4LoLs) and is currently sponsored (not by mobafire) so I'm hoping at least some of you will listen :P.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to openly post links here, despite being a vet I haven't been to this site in a looong time. If you want a link to one of my guides, just PM me or if somebody could give me the a-ok that links are fine I'll edit my OP. Thanks.

Mobafire in the title repelled people.

P.S. It's okay to link to your guide. Just don't be obnoxious and link it ten times.

Hey TC. Here's why I disagree with you. Why would we try to take something that is bad, and make it good? That would require effort.

We already have something good. Solomid.

Guides can only get you so far though. I just feel as if it isn't worth fixing.

Mobafire isn't all that bad though. I hope.

Its true guides will only get you so far... but if you do good with a bad build one time, you will continue to use it if you are new to the game... and when you run into better players in ranked and the like, people will get angry at you for losing them elo and such which is something that I'd like to help prevent.

As for solomid, yes it is better overall, but mobafire is more visited and has a friendlier layout to new players. Generally pro players who make solomid guides don't include as much information, which is a bit unappealing to players who are new trying to learn the game.

As for helping, well I guess it's up to you :P.

LOL solomid sucks, it's viability as a guide site was destroyed the second they lost in their first match at the world finals.

Lol? You couldn't be more wrong. Half the guides there aren't even from solomid players, and how is losing to some of the best players in the world destroy your site's credibility? I hope most people on this site aren't as slowminded as you.
