If you can't play all 5 roles at once you shouldn't play ranked

But then everyone would be waiting for someone to pick a role and then time will run out and everyone becomes random.....

Yeah i agree. This is the reason im not playing ranked with my friends because they want to play dedicated roles even though most of us can play various roles. I think its not only needed to be able to play each role but you need to play each role well.

Still i usually main mid or top.

I wish I could play them all at once, but I usually have to settle for just one.

Maybe 2 of them when I'm playing Urgot.

Maybe 3 if I'm also warding lots.

But no more than 3.

That's my level.

I'm only willing to play top, mid, or AD carry and I've never had problems in queue

That's pretty stupid. Phantomlord told my friend that you should have a primary champ/role, a secondary champ/role, and support. Try to get primary, if that doesn't work out then secondary. Then support. If one of your roles happens to be ADC then a support/AD duo queue could mess that up though.
My friend and I are doing mid/top/support and jungle/ADC/support for duo queue. We'll see how it works.

this is extremely false and only applies at 1200 and lower elos.

you will never hit higher elos when you theoretically know how every role works but you dont master any of them. "playing a role" in your book most probably means picking a meta top/bot/mid champ and playing him but in the end getting extremely outplayed. this is why you will never hit above 1200 elo.
