Why is my defense going to be more expensive in season 3? It makes me sad that I won't be as defenseful as I can be now without paying Riot so much more gold.

You are no longer unkillable. You will have to balance damage with your tankyness to win exchanges. BUT you will also be harder to kill compared to the other players building the shiny new damage items meaning that YOUR team will do more damage also. So your role as meatstic cc pealing beast will be even more important in the new environment but will require much much more coordination and teamwork because you will die quicker than before.

thanks, Mr. Fox. this topic was really supposed to be for the high utility, low damage scaling champs that got took a hit along with the tanky deeps.

though i suppose full tank builds truly have gone the way of the dinosaur
