My friend says everyone misreads it and it's not "you get what's left."

I stand by the "you get what's left" translation of the rule.

I'm pretty sure a red just said "just don't be a jerk." I am not sure, there was a thread about it in GD.

the first pick is the highest elo * dont know if this is still true*
best player gets what he wants * he is the most likely to carry*
worst player gets the left overs *least likely to carry*

Reds have also stated that pick priority trumps calling a role. Whatever the answer is, "dibs" isn't it.

It's pretty much communicate with the rest of your team and don't be a jerk. As long as you're trying your hardest and communicating what you're doing and why you're doing it, you're fine with whatever you pick.

I believe it is, unless highest ELO is in duo and not party leader, in which case it should be the party leader.
