I hate how riot basically removes spectating when a event is going on

I gotten into the habit of having a spectate game going while doing homework for background noise. so not having the option to watch random games kind of suck

I actually agree here. I understand there's probably an incentive for Riot to make events prominently displayed to their players, but I've always found spectate mode to be the best way to watch games. Why not make the live event games available to be viewed in spectator mode, and have like, a separate tab for random games?

If they do, it'd be for PBE games only. Which works, I suppose.
