I've been talking with certain people that say denial is a "stupid mechanic" and that the game is heavily mechanic based instead of skill based.

Matter of the fact is that although you can make an opinion you can't play a quarter of a game, get bored with it and make a convoluted opinion just because you like League better and hate trying something new.

Does anyone else actually think that denial is a stupid mechanic? Sure, it's killing your own allies, but suiciding isn't optimal either yet you do it to DENY your enemy gold and experience.

I actually like teamkilling.
Denial is fine with me, I just can't stand turning speed and thus don't have any interest in Dota 2.

denial=a way for higher skilled players to do higher skilled things

will you play dota2 with me tryharder

also denial is fine because it adds better lane control/dynamics and any player who is able to control their minions and the opposing minions deserves to win lane.

You now have a wider range of choice as to what to do when your enemy laner goes in for a cs, you can harass them right away, or you can deny -> harass; it just adds more interesting plays than the sit and farm until jungle ganks/someone makes a mistake that lol has.

I dislike outright denial, but I can see the arguments for it, from a skill perspective.

being able to evade your opponents long enough for them to not get kill credit takes rather more effort than hitting your own dudes with spells/autoattacks - they're not that comparable.

I came to League roughly 3 years ago, from playing the original DotA.

I liked LoL more back then, and i still like it more now.
