I came to League roughly 3 years ago, from playing the original DotA.

I liked LoL more back then, and i still like it more now.

this IS your opinion and i am not arguing over which game should be liked/not liked

My point is that DotA is a higher skill game and I don't understand why people try to argue this and that if they have barely touched the game

Personally I argue that it isn't a better game.

It is higher skilled. That goes without saying no matter how you define skill.

Doesn't denial come from the fact that RTS have the ability to target your own units in case you have max population and want to build different units? It makes sense League doesn't have it since it isn't created in a RTS custom map.

Except it really isn't. Not saying it's worse, but saying the two are separated by a massive skill gap or something is just ridiculous.

higher skill like times table of 7 is harder than 5. in the end mechanics in a moba are still easy as hell and the game should focus on strat vs strat instead of minor inconveniences like denying.

I've been talking with certain people that say denial is a "stupid mechanic" and that the game is heavily mechanic based instead of skill based.

Those people are stupid.

Does anyone else actually think that denial is a stupid mechanic? Sure, it's killing your own allies, but suiciding isn't optimal either yet you do it to DENY your enemy gold and experience.

It's an early game mechanic, meat to keep you safe from ganks, prevent your lane from pushing, and overall acquire more gold and experience than your opponents. I think it's a great mechanic, great for Dota2 and HoN, but it would never work out in LoL, since you get so little gold in comparison, and the system is way to simplistic compared to its rivaling games.

they took out denial because they didn't like the mechanic

in real war you starve the enemy of supplies and destroy as much of their stuff as you can while killing all of their men

Yes but you make it sound like its implemented in DotA simply BECAUSE its a RTS custom map. Yet its quite simple just to turn the feature off, thus DotA have it because it WANTS to have it not because it stemmed from the RTS custom map =_=

there's much more in dota that makes it a more challenging game

camp stacking/pulling

intense micro with heroes like chen, invoker and meepo

actual mana costs(at level 2 tiny can't cast both of his spells without extra INT for mana pool)

etc.

But you have to see that at the time of its creation, it is influenced heavily by RTS mechanics since that is what it is created off of. As the moba genre develops wouldn't it make sense to adapt to have its own elements and stem away from other genres?
