...However it seems incredibly demanding. AP, AD, magic/phys defense, which lane to lane, who's good at which lane and why, warding, etc...

I'm wondering if there is a good podcast or a good site besides the main site that will help me out. I'm afraid to just play and since I'm going to be brand new, not know what is going on and have people yelling at me instead of helping.

Just play, it's very easy to figure out. Especially when you pick and then people will tell you how dumb you are for picking the wrong guy for what role, it helps with the learning process.

you have about 30 levels to learn the meta and even then it doesn`t really matter
as far as e-sports go this is easily the most casual and easiest to get in to.

Believe me when i tell you, it doesnt matter how good you get, there will always be some idiot yelling at you or blaming you for everything.

Just start playing, have fun, use the champs you like, and I recommend reading guides in Solomid.net
I dont see a lot of streams but I'm sure other fellow board members can help you out with that.

If you decide to start playing I can give you more tips and we can play together too so you can learn a thing or two, I'm not the best player but I might be able to help.
