An unconventional start on Lanewick. 2-0 so far.

>_> I realize I'm arguing with Umashi, who is leagues better than me at this game, I just dont see how someone is going to "take advantage" of free mana start when the only other alternatives are also offense/defense statless starts. There's nothing saying you can't go sunfire or SV first. My old Lanewicl game always consisted of rushing the cheaper SV first. Now I'm finding I can be far more aggressive early game, which is something Tear does not immediately grant.

Posting from a phone, so that's my excuse if someone's ninja'd me.

Nothing stopping people with good early levels from kicking your teeth in.

You don't have boots so if they do, they're faster, they have sustain on top of any innate sustain they have if they started flask and a Ward for protection while you just run around with Mana regen doing nothing to protect you.

Just for reference, have you ever played Warwick in lane, weird start or no? He gets natural life steal (magic life steal even!) from his passive and his Q heals him a lot. As long as WW is near a minion, he is going to out sustain anyone that is not named Cho'Gath or possibly Nunu. (And WW still beats Cho conventionally.)

Both as and against WW.

Don't let him near minions and he can't sustain. His Q is good but he's not getting Soraka heals every 9 seconds at level 2, especially if your opponent has Mr blues and the mastery.

I would try this if playing WW didn't put me to sleep.

Be that as it may, that's just a flaw of WW in general, and not the build. If you're going to bully that much, other types of starts are going to be messed up in the same way. If anything, you're still better off because you're more free to spam your natural sustain when you've been pushed under turret, which is also a boon because you don't have to be stingy with conserving mana and miss cs.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't see OTHER starts being so beneficial that you would call this start foolish. It's certainly different, and I'm welcome to be proven wrong so I don't practice this too long for no good reason. >_>
