I find if you can come up with a good duo partner you can pubstomp a lot easier than if you're solo queueing.

A good Malphite, Amumu, Blitz or Leona + any good carry is basically guaranteed to obliterate low elo teams. When I dropped down into the 1200s I had scores like 10-1-25 nearly every match.
