How is he? He was a monster in season two so is he still one in season 3?

Strong, just not as strong since the new items benefited other tops more than him.

Actually, since Wedge Antilles > Carriers, and Carriers = Instant win, then it should be Wedge Antilles > Instant win. He's just that good XD -PsionicDude

Jayce gained some power, R Cannon, Black Cleaver, Last Whisper will make the tankiest character paper, but other tops have gained more power than he has.

Still good, but others got a lot better.

Ill give you a tip and you'll find out yourself.
Get brutalizer early as usual.
Instead of gettin BC immidietly or building BT or someting, get Sword of Divine. Max Q>W>E. You are now assassin and king of midgame without destroying your lategame potential, like you do with TF.

You can get use out of both Hydra and Hurricane on the same character :O

Still super strong. Now its just not as easy to dominate your lane.
Hes still super annoying with his crazy harass and they didnt nerf his Q which still does the most damage in ranged form.

Build an early tear (700G) for infinite mana in lane, and you can decide whether or not on upgrading it.

Now you have to use E the way it was meant to be used, and thats a disengaging tool rather than a nuke that would chunk a third of your opponent's HP.

It only got nerfed by like ~200 damage at max level. Q was always the better choice to max first.

Fun fact: damage boost on Hypercharge increases Hurricane's damage aswell.

There are several ways to build Jayce succesfully.
There is one build I recently came to like a lot and thats
Ghostblade + Atma's. Atma's cost effective on lower HP if you can utilize crit well. And along with Ghostblade, your crit is high enough to matter. It gives pene, AD, CDR and armor.
Combine it with Banshee's Veil (catalyst is as good on top as it is on mid) and you have also MRes, spellshield and HP/Mana (which gives more AD).
As one of last items (5th pick most usually) get Infinity Edge and become second ADC.

Still strong, also still borderline impossible to catch.

Also his ranged W melts faces with Cleaver.
