Should you build Static Shiv on Shaco?

Does it give a bonus to his E?

I think so.

I go lantern > zerker boots > brutalizer > shiv > ghostblade > SoTD > GA

The first 3 items are good for running around ganking, shiv is good for pushing out lanes and required if I need to backdoor, then later in the game ghostblade + SoTD lets me Q into a teamfight and instakill the ADC or APC (I die too, but who cares, I'm Shaco).

Shaco basically provides nothing in team fights because of his squishiness. The only good thing about about him is his ability to stealth gib the carry, and maybe use his clone and boxes, so shiv is good for his initial attack.

Never ever ever.

Shaco's Q is an auto crit, which scales nicely with AD.
Shaco's E scales on AP and AD

For 500 more gold, you can get a bloodthirster or black cleaver.

COMPARISON TIEM!

full charged shiv vs fully charged BT vs the always ready Cleaver on a gank. assuming 150 base AD, and a target with 50 armor/50 MR.

Level 5 Q:
Statikk Shiv does not autocrit, as the base attack uses that, leaving the statikk shiv's magic damage critical chance to be equal to your base crit rate, which in this case, is zero.

Shiv : (total 276 damage) 330 Phys + 100 Magic
BT: (total 366 damage) 550 phys
Cleaver: (total 314 damage) 440 phys

Level 5 E:
After you hit them, they're gonna start running, right? Why not throw a two-shiv poison while their back is turned to help your chase?

Shiv: (total 164) 252 Magic damage
BT: (total 244) 372 Magic damage
Cleaver: (total 200) 302 Magic damage

Initial burst damage with Q and E:
Shiv: 440
- - raw 330 phys/ 352 magic
Bloodthirster: 610 - - raw 550 phys/392 magic
Cleaver: 514 - - raw 440 phys/ 302 magic

They're not quite dead, and/or you're in a teamfight, targeting the carry, so chase 'em down!

Bloodthirster 4 auto attacks:
(total 800) 1200 phys damage
Cleaver 4 auto attacks: (remember, your blink comes back 1.1 seconds faster with this item, but we'll exclude that for now.)
(total 607) 800 phys damage, and the cleaver procs. YAY MATH. (146+149+153+157)
Shiv 6 auto attacks and another proc, since you move and attack faster (even though it's only 40% attack speed and not 50%, and that 50% is further mitigated by the presence of other IAS items, we'll give benefit of the doubt here):
(total 666) 900 phys, 100 mag

Total damage after a few seconds of attacking:
Shiv: 1106
(440 mentioned above, plus 666 here)
Bloodthirster: 1410 (610 mentioned above, plus the 800 here)
Cleaver: 1121 (514 mentioned above, plus the 617 here), AND your Q/E are both ready faster than in both of the above cases.
