So out of curiosity, why aren't we getting any guides for this game?

I'd be willing to write guides if there was some kind of reward program. A lot of people probably would.

Allen:

Dunno if you're still reading, but as a longtime guide writer, here's why I don't write them on here where I once did 20 for diablo II.
Its the level of change that LoL goes through on a weekly basis. Diablo 2 changed every 2 years; this game changes weekly.

If I wrote a guide for rengar, a champ released in September, the guide would now be five iterations out of date. Evelynn, a hugely popular champ right now, has had two reworks since July and the items that she uses have also changed twice, effectively giving four iterations.

If you want to entice us to write, we are going to need HUGE quality control, because a guide for LoL has an effective shelf life of about 3 months most of the time. Having said that and with all respect to this board, this is not the FCB, and I have no idea who that QA person(s) would be.

Not reading all of this, hope this wasn't posted yet. There's also the thing that besides having more guides, some of the other sites have the most renowned players writing guides for them.

Most people have already said it, but mostly because Gamefaqs' formatting is inferior to other websites. They have a much more LoL-Friendly format, where you can literally click and drop to make pictures and graphs, which I think is a lot easier to read and understand. Additionally if you're using the guide for the first time, and you want to alt-tab during game to see what to do next, it's a lot easier with a picture of the weapon or your skill path rather than a bunch of text. Additionally, balance changes to both champs and items can alter usage. Take MF. 5 months ago she was almost never picked, after they fine-tuned her, she's a very common choice.

EDIT: Yes I think if you offered money you could get guides. I was actually working on a Nocturne guide for another site, but I can make one for here. I'm not diamond ELO, but I've played him enough to know most of his tricks and such.

rather than the guide creator format it really is the incentive that gfaqs lacks in comparison with solomid.net

For the record, formatted FAQs (which have been around for years) solve the formatting issue. Gamefaqs hasn't been plaintext only since at least 2010.

Be that as it may, it is still a more efficient use of time to use SoloMid, if only because of accessibility and ease of use.

Another reason guides aren't really being written for this is just like there aren't many multiplayer guides for other games. People just have different play styles and philosophies on how and what to build on certain champs. The game changes frequently introducing more build choices and controversy over the builds. Other sites build guides seem much easier with the pictures and stats updating and what not. For example, people arguing over the Statik Shiv creates much theory crafting and math in the boards, which just isn't easy to do in FAQ form. Also, the frequent changes discourage just one person from doing all the math, theorycrafting, and then testing the builds.

EDIT: I do see the wiki being useful for this thoug, but then again, anyone could edit it and make a worse build
