is there some really steep learning curve or something to this game? i swear to god i dont get it

i just tried to "jump right in" like everyone is telling me

but i get freaking yelled at for not staying in my lane or whatveer

UGH

just so embarassing to get yelled at all the time :( im not having fun

it's not fun when you start, but its fun a little bit after you start playing

showed my older brother how to play and he was frustrated, but he liked the complexity.

Play the tutorial. After that, learn the roles.
Top lane- Bruiser. Usually heavy melee tank. Example: Garen.
Gold+ EXP from last hitting minions.
Mid lane- AP carry. AP= Ability Power. Spellcaster who uses skills to melt foes. Examples: Ryze, Annie.
Gets EXP and gold from last hitting minions.

Bottom (bot) lane- AD carry and support. AD carry- Attack Damage. Relies on powerful autoattacks to deal heavy damage. Very squishy.
Examples- Ashe, Sivir.
Gold+ Exp from last hitting minions.

Support- also goes bot- Does not get kills, or gold. Helps ADC survive.

Jungler- Stays in the jungle and helps ambush (or "gank") lanes. Gets EXP and gold from killing the monster camps that spawn in the jungle. Also gets buffs from killing specific monsters.

Good luck. Try playing against bots at first, and if it's too hard, just make a custom game on the Proving Grounds to practice last hitting.
Just play more. You'll get better with practice.

Straight up and tell them you are a newb in chat when the game starts, lol community is quite forgiving. You are expect to be a old timer at any level because of smurfing(even 1 digit level), therefore all the rants and yells you were having.

Do not behave like you know everything, they would treat you worse. I haven't seen anyone calling name or anything if they speak up instead of playing quietly.
