Let's say when you start the game you buy flask and 1 ward, you think the enemy jungle is going to gank you early, so which do you ward?

And how do you know which to ward?

I typically ward top brush and lane close to it so if he comes from bot he'll have to run across the whole lane to get to me.

Whichever buff the jungler starts at, I ward the opposite side and hug it in case they gank from the unwarded side

I always ward bottom brush.

If we are blue side, I ward the near entrance to the opposing jungle. In conjunction with bot's ward on dragon, we get full vision and deny the enemy jungle a chance to gank mid, bottom, and counter jungle.

On red side I ward bottom side as well. This allows bottom lane to only have to worry about warding the tri brush as there is no (easy) way the jungle can get to dragon without being spotted, plus this ward can be deep into their jungle, providing an opportunity to kill a weak jungler.

Also, I find these wards allow me to properly warn my bot lane if a gank is incoming, as well as ensure I can safely gank bot and know if I'm being followed or ambushed.

I ward the top side because generally the enemy top ganks more then the enemy bot, or at least that is how it seems when i play.

That. More specifically Wraithes, junglers love them Wraithes. I find people generally tend to gank less from their Wolves.
