just bought Zed for counter AP because it looked hella fun. Who's he good against?

If you want to counter APs, get Galio, Talon, Pantheon or Kassadin.

Zed does really well against any squishy AP champ in mid, and can stand toe to toe with other tankier mids just because of his mobility with his shadows. If you use your shadow to poke and Q to farm until level 3 then you should be fine against anyone. Lulz will be had when they underestimate your strength and you kill them at 6 with nothing but boots. The only thing that makes Talon a bit better is his silence and better ganks.
