What yellows to use for AP champs?

I haven't really bought runes since season one for the most part, and I haven't played standard AP mids often (If I mid I generally ryze). So what yellows to use? I have a set of gp10 (2.3 gp/10) that I use just because... nothing else looks particularly amazing to me. So what is it you should be using? I know 2.3 gp/10 is small but... I'd rather have a free 20 ap tome every 32 min than be able to survive for 50% of an adc auto.

I use static armor increases on all my AP champs. I know some champs can use mana regen ones but I'm not sure which champs though.

I'm pretty sure scaling health yellows are good.

If you dont go armor then some ranged mages will destroy you with autos, let alone AD mids. if its draft and you know they do not fall into that category, then go ahead and do HP/level yellows.

armor when against AD.

HP/level if you don't need armor.

Mana Regen if you need it.

Should always just use armor because it also helps reduce damage from minions.

Don't underestimate the creep aggro damage mitigation an early ~10 armor can do for you even if your lane opponent doesn't do much physical.

Creeps don't aggro for spell damage, just autos (and spells that apply on hits) mana regen does wonders for champs that poke a lot in lane via just spells (ziggs, lux, xerath)
