But in professional play, we usually always see the same champions and team comps.
Every game I watch is so monotonous at this point.

You should watch OGN tournaments(the tournaments in S. Korea). I've seen Kassadin mid rushing Mejais(Cornsalad) and recently there was an Annie+Jarvan bot lane combo. What I like most about these tournaments is that its a Bo5 and if it does in fact go to the 5th game it's blind pick. At big international tournaments people tend to pick really "safe" champions because there's a lot of money at stake.
