I've played him support several times in normals and its not too bad. He plays a lot like sona but with a shield instead of a heal and a skillshot poke. I did notice that more often that not (solo-queue) teams don't follow up on his ult though.

I usually take Galio top whenever I get around to playing him. Just build him tanky with items that give MR and AP. Throw some armour and health items in there, and you've got a bulldozer trampling over everything.

He's not a lane support, he's a teamfight support. Two completely different roles. Take him mid or top, or don't pick him. --- Evelynn is my waifu. Help... Me...
