He can still clear just fine (slow, but he was always slow). I've picked him up recently with mixed results, although most of my failures are due to me sucking rather than any inherent weakness in Alistar's abilities. Also, he can build some damage and his attacks hurt while his ult is up, a lot of people underestimate this. --- Michael, I did nothing. If you start boots you're basically all-in for the first gank to succeed. And now that it's perfectly acceptable in the meta to start pots+ward(s), people will definitely ward early game when they see Alistar.
I ran across a jungle Ali in ranked that started boots+3. Our top laner just dropped a ward at start and I counterjungled the hell out of him. --- Wii FC: 1686 5820 3040 7075 XBL: PettyAlchemy
He clears even slower than in S2, so he'll be hoping and praying for his ganks to be successful.
He's very risky to use, especially now that Pots+Ward is now an acceptable start, so unless the enemy team is braindead, they'll be starting with these items VS an Ali jungle.
However, you can anticipate them starting Pots+Ward and your team choosing laning champions whom can take advantage of this. --- Actually, since Wedge Antilles > Carriers, and Carriers = Instant win, then it should be Wedge Antilles > Instant win. He's just that good XD -PsionicDude
