Why do we lose more elo than gain?

-12 a loss
+11 a win

So at a 50% win ratio, I'm consistently just losing 1 elo

Evidence is absolute. Logic is flawed.

depends on average elo of your team compared to theirs

That means youre losing games where youre ranked slightly higher than the other person and winning ones where youre about equal.

its the same thing in street fighter. If you face someone who is higher you will gain more points for winning, but lose more if you face someone who is lower and get beaten. I think its there just so you can't gain a bunch of false points from lower leveled people.
