The first few minutes of a pro match does tend to be a little stale and passive, because both teams are so cautious and take good opportunities to do anything, compared to regular players who may not always be jumping on a good opportunity to act. You're not seeing kills until 10-15 minutes in because the teams are also just better at getting themselves out of deaths. You may still see action but it's true that it doesn't always result in a death.
I would say that regular matches tend to be a bit quicker and a lot more aggressive. People don't seem to play all that passively anymore. --- c|(:B)--|--< Howdy ya'll!

In high level play people don't often get caught or do stupid crap to die. I mean it still happens, but for the most part people concentrate on getting gold and it is hard to get early kills on skilled opponents. Are you surprised that high level gameplay doesn't involve feeding 10 kills by the 5 minute mark? --- #1 LoL Poster NA: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/954437-league-of-legends/63627116
You're right but at high level of play, they play extremely cautious and therefore they tend to farm safely and try to avoid any risky plays. In normals and draft it shouldn't be as slow as that. --- GT: DeLaMal LoL: Cascayde

Watch korean games and team like moscow5/gambit gaming. You will see much more early action and 3-4 man gank early game. --- That was a fail, an epic fail.. - Guy Cecil
And that's why you play passively for a bit. --- Rule #1 of Resident Evil: Don't catch the sunglasses. GT - Judgement Blade

if you wanna watch interesting pro games then its just better to stop being confused about dota2 and take 15 mins to understand whats going on.
I watch both and lol games take awhile to be worth watching (unless of course yourwatching Asian games, they can do some interesting stuff with the early game.
With Dota2 watch the NA teams they are much slower and easier to get a grasp on whats going on (also read about the different actives that the items have, that should help alot with making it easier to follow),
Watchin a few HoN scrims might make it a bit easier to follow dota2 also, methods are very similar.
