In my placement matches, how bad can 1 loss screw me?

I'm halfway through my placement matches, and I had a Cait who made me go Soraka support, then proceeded to feed to hell and back.

We lost.

I heard this system is really unforgiving. Am I doomed to Bronze now?

5 and 5 put me at silver division 5. Not sure what everyone else's experiences are, but that's what happened to me.

I won my first seven matches and lost the last three.
