Why Thresh is OP

What are your thoughts on Thresh?

i dont like him

he seemed op when i first played against him...

then im all...

lets just zone him... he needs those souls... if he grabs you focus him...

also hes dependent on having teammates that aren't brain dead.... so... you know how that works around here


also he says at the end "if you thought darius was op...."

you don't compare abilities 1:1 other abilities, only kits to kits

His Q is way too damn strong. I dont care about anything else in his entire kit. The Q has to be nerfed to hell.

Riot addressed Thresh's Q and they plan to do nothing about it. They said in the post (I'll look for it) in order for Thresh's Q to do massive damage he needs massive farm. He needs the souls to increase his stats, so shut him away from them and watch him be useless. His AS is also very slow and he is easy to kill early/mid game so as long as you keep him away from farming and harass him like crazy, he'll become very useless. Essentially Riot said his Q was meant to be the single highest Damage skill in the game, but to get there is no easy task.

Edit: FYI I'm not talking about Support Thresh, I'm talking about Top lane Thresh, people complain about his AD ratio on his Q, but he needs to be fed in order to farm the Items he needs to do massive damage.

I play Thresh and look.


Aside from his passive Q and ult, none of his other ability hardly do any damage or useful by himself. With a team it good, but not by himself.


And he need to farm souls and money to get to that OP state, the same as every other champ.

I feel like thresh is a better version of blitz in every way. Utilized correctly he is a terror to deal with. But even with bad players he has good application because of the other things in his kit. Whereas, blitz is a one trick pony, Thresh is a top tier multi-trick pony with surprising staying power well in to the late game.

Even though Thresh gets natural AP, all of his abilities' AP ratios are terrible (except for the ultimate). Of course, if you let the game run for 3 hours Thresh will be OP. I bet whoever wrote that thinks Sion, Nasus and Veigar are the most OP champions in the game.

Also, his hook. The comparison with Blitzcrank's is flawed. First, Thresh's is a way harder skillshot to land. Second, Thresh's only slowly pulls the enemy halfway towards you and your teammates (you can approach them if you activate them again, but you are not pulling them towards your entire team). Third, he cannot hook people over walls, which makes it WAY less game changing than Blitzcrank's.

Also lol at complaining about Thresh throwing Qs from the bushes. That's why you ward those bushes.
And an additional lol at "if you thought Darius was OP"

EDIT: Also "OMG this champion has more armor than other supports, plz nerf".
