Anyone else still feel uneasy not starting Boots+3?

I think it really depends on the matchup and the champ you got. I don't feel there should be any standard start.

I only start it if the situation calls for it. It's the safest way to start to give yourself sustain while movement to position yourself better.
You like it or you don't, but i hate people saying it's 'an acquired taste." That's just a cop out. - bookwormbabe29 on beer.

Before the changes, I would go Boots+3 on virtually every champ i played, with a select few exceptions. It definitely makes it interesting with everyone having different starting items now, and I'm not arguing it's a bad change. Just weird adjusting to it >.<

Eh, I go Flask+3 on many, though on Ryze I go Sapphire Crystal+2. More mana=more kill power :D.

Red Elixer+4 pots+Ward

9 pots+2 wards

Depending on my lane I take my pick from these options. People really underestimate how strong of a start Red Elixer is though.

I always boot. I can't do any of the other stuff.

9 pots 2 wards
or flask pot ward
or stuf

sword/pots on all my ad carries.

cloth/pots on most of my tops.

boots/pots on most of my mids.

flask/pots for the occasional matchup or champ mid or top.

machete/ward/pots or machete/pots on junglers.

It's gotten pretty standard already. But I do like that there is more variety than EVERYONE getting boots/pots.

you only start pots or flask when you know you'll be losing or if you need it. if your opponent is terrible there's no point in starting sustain.
