How the F is it quicker to reach D than F when they are both one key below your middle and pointer finger of the left hand respectively, if you have your four fingers on QWER. They're both the same.

Because you're also bad if you have four fingers on QWER. People with a brain have their pinky on shift.

For people with tiny baby hands, I could understand it being a problem.

For people with regular sized hands, as in hands designed for use with a standard keyboard, it's really not a big deal at all. You just put it on whatever key you are comfortable with.
