I play support. It's the only role in this game that even resembles fun. Long story short, I carried myself to 1250 elo using ADC before I switched back to playing support, since its around then that people start knowing what the support role is and what it does and how to use it. However, why am I getting paired in matchmaking against people with 800-900 elo? I have lost 11 games in a row, dropped 2 divisions, and actually lost 14 of my last 15.

Why am I getting paired with people 300-400 people under me? I get these terrible elo people who don't know how to utilize the rediculous amount of work I am doing as a support. Whole bottom half of map pretty much stays warded once I get both gp10s, 234512341234 hooks landed.

I actually got so fed up last game that I did something I never thought I would ever do in my 2.5 years so far in the game. I had a 5th person die on me (I was thresh) because they ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to click on the lanturn, no matter how many times I spam after the first 4 deaths to grab it. So I just afk'd out. Game ended 2 mins later, but I still felt bad. Oh well.

Anyway, so why does the game pair me up with these people? If you say you can carry your way out of LOW elo as support, you are a liar. You can carry games mid-high elo. Low elo you CANNOT. I ping 234523454325 times in my full vision bot river as the jungler runs from dragon area to mid, mid gets ganked and dies.

I really don't want to have to start playing boring ass mid/jungler/top/adc for 4 months to get back to silver.

tl:dr - First, you should look into this:

second: Why does matchmaking pair me up with 300-400 lower elo people, who cannot be carried as support.

You said you were 1250 elo and then lost 14-15 games straight. Let's say in the old system all those games were worth about 15 elo a piece. You would now be at 15x15 = 225, 1250 - 225 = 1025. And that's being lenient. If you've played only a few games this season (less than 20) your elo is very volatile and will rise and fall quicker. So that might be why you're being paired up with 800-900 elo people.

I didn't understand when I was in my best of 3 placement matches, I kept getting paired with people who were playing their first ranked game.

That really baffled me. Esp when they were a premade and went zed and teemo bot.. And I couldn't even dodge cos of placement best of 3.

I had ~300 games played before system changed, so no :/.
