Malphite rocks solo top. Especially if they're playing a squishy character. All he really needs is a couple good pokes and then his ult followed up by a combo to land a kill.

He definitely can't carry a team though. I hate when I have games as Malphite where I just completely shut down my lane (whether I be going bottom or top) and still get beaten down later on because the other lane(s) fed too much. :/

if i play top i guess i can see the potential, but if i build too much damage i end up being really weak & squishy late game.. which is not really how i see my effective malphite roll.

With an extremely tanky early game malphite, if your lanes are doing well, you can seriously dominate near anything once he hits his ult at 6.

it's just really hard for me to see the potential in a damage stacked ad/ap malphite.

he'll die way too easily and his cooldowns will limit his damage output way too much, why not pick a real ap mid or adc.

malphite is seriously one of my favorite tanks and almost impossible to contest.

When I go AP Malph, just rush chalice -> RoA -> Rylai's -> Liandry's -> DFG or deathcap. By the time you get Rylai's you should have won. His ratios are too good for a tank. Kinda like Rammus.
