Yes, League in general is a fairly amusing joke as a competitive scene.

It's a fun moba to dick around with, with a lot of charm to it. It doesn't mean it should be competitive.

Only at low levels is the scene a joke. The actual pro scene is based on better mechanical play, positioning, and strats.

Yeah, the pros must have such a great understanding of game mechanics when the entire meta shifts without anything in the game actually being changed.

Yeah, the pros must have such a great understanding of game mechanics when the entire meta shifts without anything in the game actually being changed.


New strategies have to come from somewhere. There is an established norm, then someone innovates and bring new things to people's attention, and everyone has to adapt to the fact that this previously unknown strategy is viable and a possibility. Also it has never gone very long without some item or champ tweaking going on anyway.

also things have counters in a balanced game.

shifts in meta occur naturally because a general style of play is countered by another general style of play.
