Also how do I mute other players talking so they don't interrupt my steam?
your talking into a a mic, and seeing as how theirs no voice chat in league, whose interrupting you, your friends? and it all depends on how loyal your fan base, it draws away people just looking for league, but if you have a fanbase, they wanna hear more about you, as well as the game.

I tend to use a third party program to communicate with people during the game. --- http://i.imgur.com/N6JmN.jpg Thanks mignoncurieux!

well then you need to say what program if you want instructions (which you could just look through the options of any program) on how to mute.

I think thoughts, opinions, and experiences are good.
When heavily streaming a while back I used to do is as a tutorial out of elo hell(Used a smurf from the placement matches and on). I would explain tips, tricks, reasons for purchases, where to go and why I would do things. Most of the games ended up me just crushing the opponents. But I did not get as many viewers as I had hoped so I have stopped streaming for now.
I found out that most players look to view streaming as a form of entertainment like TV and not so much to learn. As long as you are interesting in your stories, thoughts, opinions and spicy things up you will have fun.
Hope this helps^^

I am not sure what program you are using but I used Xsplit. There is a command to block out the audio for each of the selected windows.
