When's the last time you looked at a champion guide?

I only read guides as basis; some sort of an idea how to play a certain champion or learning a certain advanced mechanic.

Mostly, I watch some streams of pro players, as they not only give you advices that may not be covered by guides, but it presents to you the idea of itemization of a champion, especially when you compare two different streamers. I observe what they do to put him and his team in a position to succeed, and how he does it.

YOLO, so I now go by gut instincts when I try a champion for the first time.

I don't try champions for the first time in a game I am not prepared to lose.
A game that promotes slavery and gambling under the illusion of 'friendship' and 'sportsmanship' is automatically an awesome game. - dydt

Every once in a while I'll look at a champ guide to see if they have specific notes on a matchup. Otherwise I always check for a gist of what to build whenever I pick up a new champ.
