Why exactly did CLG release Voyboy?

From what I've seen, he's done nothing but overperform ever since joining Curse.

Because Voyboy didn't fit CLG's passive playstyle. Voyboy didn't have as much freedom to do what he's doing now on Curse in terms of his playstyle.

He had one bum tournament, CLG limited his champ picks, and HSGG wanted top back.

Didn't they make him play Lulu/Diana top almost every game?

Honestly CLG should have benched Hotshot and keep Voyboy

Hotshot wasn't going to bench himself.

hotshot had already lost saint cause he knew voyboy was a better top than himself so he instead took the jungle

then he realized he was a garb jungle and didn't want to support so they benched voyboy so hotshot could play top, chau jungle and get a new support which at the time was 2xlift's choice of locodoco which we all know didn't work out at all.

basically because hotshot

From my distant vantage point, it looks like Hotshot's decisions are aimed less at what is good for the team and more about what suits him personally.

There was also a time when Voyboy was on the fringes of Curse as well. Sometime before the end of Season 2 he had some really bad tournaments and he was on the cusp of being replaced. It's really only with the beginning of Season 3 that he has really stepped it up.

I think Saint & Co were smart enough to realize that what they were doing wasn't working (failing to qualify for s2 being first among that). So they adjusted their overall playstyle to fit Voy better, I think.

Also Cop is playing really well right now.
